From Politico.com:
"Look, I got two daughters — 9 years old and 6 years old," he said. "I am going to teach them first about values and morals, but if they make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby. I don't want them punished with an STD at age 16, so it doesn't make sense to not give them information."
(emphasis mine)
Usually comments about politically dangerous topics (like Abortion) are handled delicately and cloaked in euphamisms, but here the Senator comes out and says that human beings are some kind of plight inflicted on wrongdoers. Interesting to think what logical path this would take us down.
I went from being disinterested in Barack Obama to distrustful of Barack Obama to disdainful of Barack Obama. What a disgusting comment.

I absolutely agree with your assessment of Obama. I can't say I'm surprised about his comment since he didn't want to call a live baby a "person" when he was fighting against the born-alive act in Illinois and in the Senate!

Hi pam j-- I'm sure there's a lot to be liked about Sen. Obama, but I just can't get over this. I didn't know the story about not calling a live baby a person, how absurd!

He was one of the few to vote against the baby who survives an abortion. That definitely defined him in my mind: 'calling a baby a punishment'. "Woe to him who calls good, evil and evil, good." His self-centered leadership would not be conducive to protecting innocent human life. I'd say you'd have to watch him after you're born too!

Hi WGR-- thanks for the note. His record and rhetoric on all the Life issues are reprehensible. Hopefully we Americans can do something about it.
